AMBASSADOR G.ŠERKŠNYS SIGNED THE CONVENTION ON MUTUAL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANCE IN TAX MATTERS

 On the 7th March Permanent Representative of Lithuania to the Council of Europe Ambassador Gediminas Šerkšnys signed the Convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters, which is opened for signature for the member States of the Council of Europe and the member countries of the OECD. Mr. Gediminas Šerkšnys also signed the Protocol amending the Convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters.

This convention provide for an administrative cooperation in tax matters with the countries, with which Lithuania does not signed bilateral agreements on avoiding taxation. The Protocol determines that the States which are not the members of the Council of Europe or the OECD can join this Convention.

The Convention and the Protocol will come into the force after their ratification in the Parliament of Lithuania.
